The grid is katakana, and half the rounds hide a different glyph among identical ones: drawn from the pairs learners genuinely confuse: so/n, shi/tsu, ku/ke. The rest keep one glyph and vary a shade or a size instead.
How to play
Scan the grid carefully. One symbol is slightly different from the rest: it may differ in shade, size, or orientation depending on difficulty. Tap it to score. Higher levels use larger grids and subtler differences.

Spot the odd symbol in every round as quickly and accurately as possible.
Strategy tips
Don't focus: let your gaze drift. A soft, unfocused scan of the entire grid activates peripheral vision, which is better at detecting differences than narrow focal attention.
Scan in a consistent zigzag pattern: left-to-right on row 1, right-to-left on row 2, and so on. This prevents you from re-scanning the same area and missing untouched zones.
If you're stuck, look for "pops": the odd-one-out often triggers a subtle visual discomfort. Trust that feeling and investigate the area rather than re-scanning everything.
