A colour word is printed in the wrong ink, and you must name the ink rather than read the word. The words are Japanese colour kanji with their romaji beneath, so the conflict works whether or not you read Japanese yet.

How to play

A color name appears on screen printed in a mismatched ink color. Tap the colored swatch that matches the ink color of the word: not the word itself. Answer quickly before the timer runs out.

Objective

Correctly identify the ink color for every prompt. Accuracy and speed both count.

Strategy tips

1. Blur the word intentionally: defocus your gaze slightly so the letters are harder to read, letting the ink color stand out instead.
2. Name the ink color aloud (or silently) before looking at the choices. Having the answer in mind first prevents the word from hijacking your tap.
3. If you hesitate, blink once and refocus. A fresh glance resets the word-reading reflex and lets you see the color instead.
