A rank of taiko sounds a pattern and you play it back. The drums are told apart by the colour of the mon on the head, and the sequence lengthens every round.
How to play
Watch the sequence of colored buttons light up in order. Once the sequence stops, repeat it by tapping the buttons in the same order. Each successful round adds one more step to the sequence.
Objective
Reproduce the full sequence without a single error. The longer the sequence you complete, the higher your score.
Strategy tips
Chunk the sequence into groups of three. Instead of memorizing 9 individual flashes, remember "Red-Blue-Green / Green-Red-Blue / Blue-Blue-Red": three groups of three are far easier to hold.
Sub-vocalize as you watch: quietly say the color names as they flash. Verbal encoding adds a second memory channel alongside visual.
Don't rush your replay: the game doesn't time your response. Tap deliberately rather than quickly to avoid mis-taps that break your streak.
