How to play
A sequence of numbers is shown with one value replaced by a blank. Study the differences or ratios between numbers to identify the underlying pattern, then select the correct answer from the options provided.

Identify the rule governing the sequence and select the correct missing number.
Strategy tips
Always compute first-order differences (subtract each term from the next). If the differences are constant, it's an arithmetic sequence: done.
If first differences aren't constant, compute second-order differences. A constant second difference means the sequence follows a quadratic rule (n²).
Check ratios: divide each term by the previous one. A constant ratio means geometric growth. Example: 3, 6, 12, 24 → ratio = 2 each time.
Look for alternating patterns: the sequence may interleave two separate rules (odd positions follow one rule, even positions another).
